We are adding homemade soaps to our list of items at The Farmyard. These soaps are carefully crafted with ingredients such as essential and all-natural oils and organic herbs and flowers. They are ideal for party favors, gifts or to use at home. We are even adding kid-friendly bars, which will include “a prize” embedded in the soap! Farm Fresh Eggs
We are selling fresh farm eggs for $2 per dozen. The carton will include a variety of colors. Please call to place an order and arrange a time for pick up.

Duckling Update
Unfortunately, our first round of duck eggs did not have a successful hatch. We have a second batch that are about two weeks behind. These eggs had better weather conditions during collection time, which we’re hoping results in a better outcome. We will keep you in the loop as hatching time approaches!
Talk About Pekins!

The eggs are still in the incubator – warm (99+°) and cozy! While we wait patiently, we wanted to share some more information about the ducks. They are a popular breed called Pekins. Pekin eggs take about 28 days to hatch, which is faster than other duck eggs. When the ducklings hatch they’ll be yellow. When they grow their adult feathers they’ll become white. Check out this website, it gives some great facts:
Switching Incubators
Here’s another update: We have switched some of the duck eggs over to a second incubator. This is the final step! If you look into the windows carefully, you can see the first picture shows the eggs in holders. The first incubator has an automatic turner for constant egg rotation. We don’t want the eggs to be turning when the ducklings hatch! So, we have switched them over to the second incubator with a grate. Some felt solid (a good sign) and others felt like they had liquid in them (no good). We’re hoping the “solid” eggs have ducklings inside!
*Please note: because the eggs were collected during a strange time of year, there are factors (like weather and fertility) that may prevent a successful hatch*
Hatching Ducklings
Thank you to everyone who supported our stand for the winter! We will be closed until the spring. While we wait for the sunshine and warmer weather, we will be posting online updates about what’s happening at The Farmyard. Here’s the first one!
Our female duck has been laying eggs every day since December. This is not an ideal time for ducks to hatch eggs because of the cold. She hasn’t been sitting on them. So, we have collected the eggs and placed them in an incubator in hopes that the eggs are fertile and will hatch. Follow our Facebook page for updates.
Open For Winter
The Move
As many have probably seen, we’ve been busy relocating our stand to a warmer, more permanent, place. The barn that had a “Welcome To Greece” sign is getting some TLC. Our team has cleared out the old straw and hay from the barn. Now we’re on to replacing the floor!
While the barn is under renovation, we are still up and running. Christmas trees and wreaths are here! Our trees include: Blue Spruce, Norway Spruce, Douglas Fir and Scott Pine. The wreaths are 18in and 22in. They can be purchased plain or decorated.
There are new animals joining The Farmyard next weekend. The big horse (pictured above) is Whistle. He will be pulling our carriage for the season. There will be various “meet and greets” with him throughout the season. If you’re interested in carriage rides, call or stop by the stand to book a date!
Last Fall Weekend
We want to thank everyone who has stopped by The Farmyard this season. The amount of community support is incredible! It has even encouraged us to do another season. WE WILL HAVE WINTER ITEMS AND ACTIVITIES! To prepare for Christmas trees, wreaths, carriage rides and more, we will be closed until the end of November. We look forward to seeing everyone again. There will be additional information on our Facebook page and website soon.
